DESCRIPTION:Foster Family Swim  \nThursday\, January 2nd\, 2:00pm to 3:30pm  \nFrank Jameson Aquatic Centre\, 810 6th Avenue\, Ladysmith  \nOpen to all foster families in the Cowichan Valley and Central Island Areas! \nJoin other foster families for a swimmingly good time! Caring Families Society has reserved the whole pool just for foster families! \nNon swimmers are welcome to hang out on the pool deck. There will be a lifeguard on duty\, but foster caregivers will need to stay to support their children or youth. Please note pool rule: an adult needs to be within arms length of any swimmers aged 7 and under with a ratio of one adult per every two swimmers under 7. We will be meeting in the large room at the Vancouver Island Public Library’s Nanaimo North Branch. Please bring toys\, books\, puzzles\, or crafts that are in clean good used condition to gift onwards and go home with some new treasures! You do not need to bring an item to take an item! Caring Families Society will donate any remaining items to local non-profit thrift stores. Children are welcome to attend with their caregivers! Our best source of wisdom and support is each other! St. John’s Anglican Church is renovating and their hall is no longer available. We appreciate their generosity over the past years in allowing us the use of their space for our meetings. \nOur new meeting place is the Nitnat Room on the second floor of the Cowichan Community Center. There are two different flights of stairs and an elevator available to reach the Nitnat Room. Please watch your emails for more information.

This playgroup is on the fourth Friday of the month. Geared toward children aged 0-5\, these sessions will include play-based activities\, a small sharing snack\, and a structured language arts circle. Facilitated by Ladysmith- Nanaimo MCFD Resource staff who have training and experience in child development and supported by Caring Families Society\, this initiative aims to create a valuable resource for foster families\, fostering connections and positive impacts for foster caregivers and children.
